Now, Tesla has begun to produce new giant cast parts for use on both sides of the structural battery pack, aiming to create a simple three-part new car platform. Casting expert Axel Turck leaked the first front-end casting base produced by Tesla, and revealed that this casting part weighs 130kg and will be used in the production of Model Y in the Texas super factory, and it is expected to start production at the end of the year.

 

Turck mentioned that this giant casting was produced at an Idra casting machine in Texas. According to previous reports, Tesla's Texas Gigafactory received an Idra "gigapress". Last week, a drone video showed for the first time that the giant machine was in operation.

On Battery Day last year, Tesla not only introduced a new 4680 battery cell, but also introduced a new battery architecture for this battery cell. Inspired by aviation innovations (using aircraft wings as fuel tanks instead of building fuel tanks inside the wings), Tesla decided to create a new battery pack designed to be a body structure that connects the lower parts of the front and rear body.

 

At present, Tesla produces battery packs by converting batteries into modules, and the battery packs are installed in the car platform. The difference between the new battery pack is that Tesla no longer uses modules, but instead builds the entire battery pack into a structural platform for the car. The batteries will help this platform become a large integral part.

 

Using expertise in giant cast parts, Tesla can connect the front and rear monocoque chassis to this structural battery pack. This new design reduces the number of parts and the total volume of the battery pack, so Tesla can increase efficiency and ultimately increase the range of electric vehicles. Novel design idea and advanced manufacturing technology are adopted to make the structure of the machine more reasonable and perfect. Apart from the functions of sealing and printing, model FRSC-1010III has the function of air suction.

The machine can seal all kinds of heat-sealable materials, which adopts a constant temperature control system and step-less speed adjusting transmission mechanism. Application:

1.FRS-1010 series plastic film bag continuous sealing machine is suitable for sealing all kinds of heat-sealed packages continuously. Such as PE bag, accordion bag, aluminum foil bag, kraft paper bag, electrostatic bag, Yin-Yang bag.

2. It widely use in the food, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry, agriculture, lubricating oil, and other industries.

A new workds proposes an enhanced shelf-life of peach fruit in alginate based edible coating loaded with titanium dioxide nanoparticles.

A recent study was conducted to determine the effects of nanoparticle based edible coatings on post-harvest quality of peach fruits during 7 days storage at ambient temperature. The edible coatings consisted of sodium alginate (SA) supplemented with green synthesised titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles and mousami peel extract (MPE). TiO₂ nanoparticles with diameters ranging from 5 nm to 20 nm were synthesised with Citrus limetta (mousami) peel extract.

Reduced weight loss

Coating treatment significantly reduced percent weight loss, retained antioxidant activity and ascorbic acid content than control samples. The coating had a significant (p<0.05) impact on polyphenol oxidase activity, titratable acidity and firmness of peach samples during storage. Similarly, coated peach samples retained colour index and slowed down the yeast and mold count during the storage period. At the end of the storage period, coated samples with coating solutions containing TiO₂ nanoparticles and MPE exhibited the lowest yeast and mold counts whereas uncoated peach samples showed the highest yeast and mold counts.

The study has been published in Progress in Organic Coatings, Volume 182, September 2023.
